As the 1960s radical said, “The issue is never the issue”. The revolution is and has always been the issue with the 1960s radicals who grew up and are now running the country, universities, and many other institutions in our society. The issues that are being thrown at society (black lives matter, the empowerment of women, homosexuality as a civil right, etc.) are only the summoning trumpet for the “useful idiots” to organize, in a communal way, around. The real issue is, as stated, the revolution. The original title of Saul Alinsky’s book “Rules for Radicals” was “Rules for Revolution”. All the Communists who now inhabit and orchestrate our government are adherents of the Alinsky model of community organizing and such. In accordance with Alinsky’s model they moved from violent revolution against the government to infiltrating the government, posing as Liberals (they are not your father’s Liberal). As they put it, they dropped the radical pose for the radical ends (they don’t where tie-dyed shirts, have long hair and call the police pigs anymore). A high profile example of this technique is Bill Ayers (who refers to himself as a Communist with a small ‘c’), a long time friend of Obama, in whose living room Obama launched his first presidential campaign. He started and led the Weather Underground terrorist bombing organization which was attempting to violently overthrow the government. Having escaped prosecution on a technicality, he went on to be a tenured university professor having never recanted his behavior and still proud of it to this day. He stated that he would rather be in the university influencing the thoughts of the students. This way he can have a much greater effect for Communism than as a terrorist bomber. He has dropped the radical pose for the radical ends. Obama, though he never met Alinsky, taught Alinsky’s techniques for the Alinsky organization ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now which is a euphemistic reference to Communism). Hillary Clinton did meet Alinsky and was enamored with him. She wrote her college thesis on him and has mastered the art of the lie. The list of high level Communist adherents is extensive and can be followed by a visit to the web site, “Discoverthenetworks.org”.  This website put out by David Horowitz set off a great commotion with the Communists when it debuted. It names names and originally also displayed their pictures until the copyright lawsuits got to be too much. At that point Horowitz dropped the pictures. If there is anything the dark ideology of Communism hates it is the light. These people have abandoned “the radical pose for the radical ends” in order to cover their true intentions, a classic Alinsky tactic. Posing as “Liberals”, they are actually radical Marxists but if you knew that, the gig would be up and they would have to morph into another form such as say, “Progressives”. They are “liberally” “progressing” “forward” towards “fundamental” “transformative” “redistributive” “hope” and “change” (all innocuous euphemisms for Communism). Remember, since morality is relative and arbitrary to a Marxist, any deception he or she uses is only one of many tools to accomplish the ultimate Utopian end, Communism. Under this definition their lies are good lies. To them a bad lie would be telling the truth when it contradicted their goals. A good example of this would be the history teachings of the Jewish Communist Howard Zinn (Like his ideological twin, Noam Chomsky, could he be anything other than Jewish?),(as a side point the actor Matt Demon was Zinn’s neighbor and a Zinn enthusiast, a funny thing since Demon’s mother claims to be a Christian; just goes to show you do not inherit redemption). Even though Zinn knew he was teaching a false narrative concerning American history, it was a good lie because it was leading to a good end, Communism. If he were still alive he would consider, for example, David Barton’s teaching of history as a bad lie because his teachings are truthful concerning the founding history of America and therefore completely contrary to the Communist ideology. The issue is never the issue; the issue is always the revolution and America is the greatest impediment to “Social Justice” (AKA communist redistribution of wealth) in the world. Therefore, anything that brings capitalist, imperialist, racist America down is just or as the Muslims put it, “slay the infidels wherever you find them” (unless, of course, they have the upper hand; then you can pretend to be their friend until the time is right to slay them. But this is a good Muslim lie because it is in the noble cause of Allah). Frequently, as has been said, “idealism kills”. The Communist, John Lennon; however, dreamed instead of the long held idealistic Communist Utopian dream of “Imagine there’s no countries. It isn’t hard to do. Nothing to live or die for and no religion too. Imagine all the people living life in peace. You may say that I’m a dreamer but I’m not the only one. I hope someday you’ll join us and the world will be as one”. This song is indicative of his belief, as well as that of President Obama, in a communal worldly salvation. Though the socialist dream flies in the face of all historical reality would not all the atrocities that have been committed in it’s name be justified in pursuit of the Utopia? Not in my book. Wicked is as wicked does. There you have it, “Communism”. Socialism would be hard for me as a realist and not a dreamer to accept; for I know the innate wicked nature of man, as did the founding fathers of America, as did Jeremiah the Lord’s prophet (Jer.17: 9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?). But If the condition of mans heart then is thus, then man, being morally and spiritually bankrupt, has no hope of redeeming himself or any society as the Lord declared to Job in the 40th chapter of the book that is titled with his name and after a series of questions and statements to Job where the obvious answer from Job would have been no and I can’t if he had spoken ( sounds like the opposite of “yes we can”) ( Job 40:14 Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee.). The socialist utopian dream; however, offers that it can redeem man even though it has no practical plan of how to accomplish this. What then if God who did have the means to pay for mans redemption made it so even though he owed it to no one. Then would it not be incumbent upon men to accept that salvation having earned non of it by thier own works as was declared again in the scriptures to the Corinthians: 2Cr 6:2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.). Of course Lennon didn’t believe the scriptures; he was to smart for that. Communism does not work, has not worked, and will never work but even so, with his communist faith in tack, Lennon was able to believe it’s myths. It is only a dream of the envious, covetous, rebellious, strife full, and Godless man. The more things change the more they stay the same. Good luck everyone.

I’ve been hearing a lot lately about some lion that was killed by a dentist who has since fled into hiding. His act seems to have enraged the leftists. Apparently they have vandalized his house and have him fearing for his life. I can’t help but laugh at his plight thus shamefully revealing my somewhat distorted sense of humor. I don’t seem to find comedians funny either; I’m sure something is wrong with me but anyway, he must not have realized before he shot the beast that his life was valueless compared to that of the noble creature. If the lion had killed him, this would have been deemed just by the leftists and I’m sure they would not have persecuted the lion so, nor would they have vandalized it’s den. They probably would have figured he had it coming or something for messing around in the animal’s territory. If the “Lion of the Senate” were still alive I’m sure he would have introduced legislation protecting his own kind and thrown his hat into the ring in favor of killing the dentist. Thank God he did not kill a whale; he would have been attacked in unison by the nations and had nowhere left to hide (at that point I would have died laughing). Anyway, these same leftist don’t have a problem with killing babies before they can even exit the womb (sometimes after they exit womb) and selling their body parts to those willing to pay. They find it quite reasonable for the butchers to take custom orders for customers who are seeking certain body parts. Maybe they should consider ordering a brain or a heart from the executed innocents to replace their own.

As the world ignites into chaos with wars and trouble on every side, especially in the Middle East, these same communists are focused on some lion that has been shot. For the record that lion never did anything evil nor did it ever do anything good. It had neither faith in God nor did it have any unbelief in God. It will be fine in the day of judgement. The same cannot be said for you who though, made in the image of God, act like animals with a brain. The lion has an excuse because it is doing exactly what it was made to do. You are doing exactly what you were not made to do and being exactly what you were not made to be and are therefore accountable. Consider the scriptures, Pauls letter to the Romans chapter 1:

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

Do you see their hypocrisy? Will you not declare it to their faces?

Proverbs 26th chapter:

Why do you fools keep electing these leftist/communists to be your government representatives? Will the Lord not hold you accountable for it? Must you always be at war with your maker? Will you not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord? This will not end well for you.

Whittaker Chambers could just as easily have been writing about Islam in this excerpt but he wrote these things before Islam was on his map because of his time frame in history. If he had been a couple of hundred years earlier his topic may have been Islam instead of Communism. In any case, the Communists think of Islam as their attack dog. No doubt the Jihadists consider the Communists their attack dupes. Each one of them is convinced he is wiser that the other. The serpent who wares many masks though “was more subtil than any beast of the field that the LORD God had made” and has made both of them his minions. When one peers behind the curtain it is still the same Lucifer doing the same things. “They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms; That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?”

This is a chapter from David Horowitz’s book, The Black Book of the American Left, Vol 1. To my shame and without his permission I have copied from his book. I thought it was time for him to make reparations for being a White Jew. If he had been Black, I would not have redistributed his property in this fashion. I am grateful that he is not a Black Jew or an albino Negro. This would have caused a schizophrenic  paradox. I don’t even want to think about what the  ramifications would have been. I would have to have somehow redistributed his work for being White and yet at the same time given him some reparations for being Black; I shudder to think. Fortunately for me, he is a White Jew and this is the price he must pay for “The Audacity of Hope and Change”. The Lord hold me blameless for this plagiarism since we all know that the “end justifies the means”. Having read this chapter in Mr. Horowitz’s book, I’m starting to feel like there may yet be a few remaining that are not drunk on the Jim Jones Kool-aid. I was just about ready to head for my cave reservation and hang up my spikes. I was fully relating to Elijah, as recorded in the 1st Book of Kings after he had slain the false prophets of Baal (the communists of yesteryear; there is nothing new under the sun):

1 And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and withal how he had slain all the prophets with the sword.
2 Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to morrow about this time.
3 And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beersheba, which belongeth to Judah, and left his servant there.
4 But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.

He condemned his own Angels and would not repent of his decision but that said, it is always a good time for you to repent. Today is the day of salvation if you will. In light of the recent legislation passed by the Supreme Court one might think that God would consider updating his opinion concerning the sodomites; maybe moving into the 21st century. Considering that most of the population is alright with this now and has voted for this type of behavior, God might change due to popular demand; hope and change right? Since all the other Gods, for example the Mormon Gods, have kept up with the times in cases involving inclusion of Negros, abandoning of polygamy, accepting homosexuality as legitimate, etc. you would think that the Hebrew God might try to keep up with the times as well. After careful investigation it turns out that the Almighty is not asking for a show of hands concerning what direction he should go. Apparently he is not soliciting opinions, much to the chagrin of many (including the Devil), as to what the nature of the things that he has created will be. Revealingly, He “worketh all things after the counsel of his own will”. It is written of him: “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” Malachi recorded his words as well, “For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.” It would appear from all of scripture that God is not given to changing who he is and will not and indeed cannot change who he is; therefore, as a ambassador of Christ, I offer advice:

Psalm 2:12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

Psalm 50:22 Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver. 23 Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.

John 8:34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. 35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. 36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

The Lord in his long suffering, mercy, and goodness endures sin for a season not for the purpose of condoning or accepting it but as written by the Apostle Peter: 2nd Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up ( Good night, this doesn’t sound a bit like the utopia that Marx was propagating).

Now I know you communists out there are counting on and hoping that there is no God and that the scriptures are not true but just fables and allegories (you might want to read them). This is a huge gamble considering your fate if you are wrong. If the scriptures don’t condemn you the heavens will since they declare the glory of God. You only have a total of 70 or 80 years to figure it out. Eternal damnation in the lake of fire sounds pretty unthinkable and should be ample motivation to consider investigating the scriptures and seeking God while you can in my opinion. I guess that makes me one of the dissenting judges and I have written for the minority opinion above. In truth though, one plus God equals a majority (actually, he doesn’t even need the one).

Psalm 107:8 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

I reference the 14th chapter of Isaiah concerning the father of lies, Lucifer. This is the same Lucifer unto whom Saul Alinsky dedicated his book “Rules for Radicals”, a staple handbook of the leftists.

13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

Apparently he was able to convince one third of the angels to join in his rebellious act of hope and change. Perhaps they thought it was high time for some social justice. It seems that the God who made him was quite displeased with his radicalness as seen again in the 14th chapter of Isaiah.

9 Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.
10 All they shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as we? art thou become like unto us?
11 Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.
12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

Also in the book of Job God spoke to Job as recorded in the 40th chapter, 19th verse: “He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.”

It is so mysterious why this covering cherub would do such a thing having seen and know all that he did. This was the fruit of pride, the downfall of many a man. Perhaps even more mystifying is why so many of the other angels followed him in his lie. I conclude that if this could happen in heaven how much more on the earth with mere mortals.

Now Lucifer struck again in the garden of Eden with another lie when he deceived Eve with his famous words saying “Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” This was after God had clearly told both Eve and Adam they would surly die if they ate that fruit. We can conclude from this that the lie is a tool used to persuade or manipulate someone to do or think something they would not do or think if they paid attention to the truth but Eve was also complicit in the guilt as seen in scripture: “And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.” In her mind she saw the social justice hope and change working for her. From the scriptures; however, we see that God punished both the lier and the deceived. It was convenient for Eve to believe this lie as is indicated. We can conclude from this that each of us is responsible not to believe a lie. In other words, if you have been tricked it is your own fault and you invited it by ignoring obvious truths. Let me offer some examples. The grand daddy of them all is the lie of evolution, order from disorder. It is a self evident truth as well as a scientific fact that this is a lie. It also is the basis for denying God and his scriptures thus opening the way for every immoral act such as communism and lying itself (if there is no God, I can do what I want).  How about global warming? Though all the science proves this to be a lie, the communists continue to push it for their own gain. Al Gore has become fabulously wealthy from this lie. Though the devil received the greater judgement, Adam and his wife were also punished. It is incumbent upon us to seek the truth, not only when it works for us, but also when it seems to be inconvenient. That which never existed from the beginning is now the staple of society, the lie.

In extreme cases like those of Obama and Hillary, a persons entire life can become one great big lie. For them the lie is justified because it is for a noble Marxist communist cause. One lie leads to another and then you have to tell another whopper to cover that one and then the lies start to contradict one another so you have to tell even more lies to cover all of those and pretty soon you are caught in a maelstrom of lies. In order to process and orchestrate all the lies you have to have a large staff. No one person can handle the volume. When your staff can no longer keep up you need the entire media to cover for you. Some conscientious people get caught up in fact checking your last lie but by that time you are 100 lies down the road. Now the fact checkers also need a full staff just to keep up with the volume of lies. At least all this staffing keeps the unemployment rate down. It is amazing to see someone who every time they open their mouth a lie comes out. Even if they say good morning you can’t trust it. I hope that none of you have reached this point.

Many times people love to be lied to. Take for example the homosexuals that want society to sanction their perverted behavior. They want society to lie to them and say they are okay. They are not okay as is revealed in the scriptures in Ezekiel (if you even need the scriptures to tell you that this is wrong you will make a fine communist and maybe even president some day).

49 Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.
50 And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.

Should I mention the multibillionaires of the world? Okay, I shall. In case you have not noticed, the communists have all the money. They clamor for redistribution of wealth while they themselves are worth untold amounts of money. They want to redistribute your money (the middle class), not their own, thus instituting a two class system of rich and poor where they are the rich. Whenever they become philanthropic giving money to charity we find that their charities are all leftist communist organizations. All of the Hollywood crowd falls into this category. Their hypocrisy is nauseating. The king of this brand of lie is George Soros who is funding innumerable leftist organizations while he himself and the media sells him as a philanthropist. What kind of lie is that? They want us to praise him, ackknoledging what a good man he is? His money perish with him and also his damnation is just. I think I will enter this into the whopper category. He is with and behind every subversive group around the globe; anything that is bad for America and the truth he is for it.

The mainstream media of course is one of the bigger fish when it comes to lie proliferation. It should be listed as the fourth branch of the government. Though unelected, they steer all policy in this country and around the globe. If I had been a communist that is the first area I would have compromised but they beat me to it. I wasn’t even born yet when they were accumulating the media. If you don’t like the lies (both commission and omission) that they telling you, you can’t even elect them out of office. It is no wonder the Russians keyed in on this institution. There are a few conservative outlets still left but with the advent of some version of the “fairness doctrine” those will soon go away. It just isn’t fair for the truth to have free access to the market place. Don’t you agree? Remember, the darkness hates the light because their deeds are evil.

The list goes on and on. The testimony of God is recorded in the book of Revealation in the 22nd chapter:

14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

The above are just a few examples of people who love and make lies but as God warned Adam and his wife, I am warning whomever will listen.

Revelation 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

Because many of you have been educated in the communist/liberal/democrat/progressive public school systems and universities, you have been indoctrinated with a false history lesson regarding the United States, its founders and its influence and activities both here and abroad. You don’t see America “as a shining city upon a hill” but as a evil colonialist power. You don’t see America as a Christian nation, divinely founded but as a robber of resources. You don’t understand that a world without America would be hell on earth; who else has been holding back the horrendous evils of our time? Even with America in place, the communists have murdered hundreds of millions of people in the twentieth century. How many more without America. This distorted history lesson is of course to be expected because a Godless person cannot understand the perspective of one that has a personal relationship with Jesus (“That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.”). The ungodly considers this perspective to be foolishness. In his own mind this is not possible since he knows it cannot be possible. The ability of critical thought is one wonderful aspect of becoming a “new creature in Christ”. This is the reason why the liberals are so easily duped and taken captive by the Devil at his will. They cannot or will not use critical thought to understand what is before them. Unlike many of the founding fathers, these teachers do not believe in Jesus and therefore by their very nature they distort the motives and meanings of all the founders writings and deeds. It is upon these same communists/liberals/democrats/progressives, that the responsibility for all the atrocities, murders, misery, poverty, theft and destruction around the world resides. Those who did not directly commit the crimes but pulled the lever for their Democratic representatives are also partakers in their guilt. Their ungodly religion/ideology is the same as the people who did do the crimes. They smugly think that if they (the new left) had been in charge or if only Trotsky had been leader instead of Stalin (he may have killed the people a little slower) it would have been different. Now take for example the mass genocides committed by their Marxist brethren in Russia, Viet Nam, Cambodia, North Korea, China, Cuba, etc.. Does this deter them from their leftist course? No, it does not. Why not? They of course will not accept responsibility for the atrocities committed in these countries or will ignore or even deny them. Anyway, because they are and were fighting for social justice, they count themselves exonerated from all these atrocities. “To make an omelet some eggs might have to be broken”. “The end justifies the means”. Their ideology is identical to the direct perpetrators and therefore the shed blood that goes with it. They use their various outlets of media, public schools, universities, etc. and expend great effort to deny, ignore, or even put the blame on someone else (like America). Maybe if they convince enough people of this lie their guilt will disappear. As a side note, even if every person in the entire world agreed with them their guilt would remain; God is not asking for a show of hands and soliciting opinions. He does not need for you to be saved. If no one at all accepts the gospel, He is able to raise up stones from the ground to believe. He is only giving you a chance because of his unmerited love. If you refuse, a stone will be fine. Now back to the subject. They take great care to rewrite history in order to obfuscate and to hold harmless themselves and their comrades. They use euphemisms like “social justice” to cover their true beliefs. Their deceitful efforts remind me of a joke that made the rounds in Moscow during the Communist heyday there that ran more or less as follows: “I’m confident of the future, and reasonably sure about the present, but the past seems to be constantly changing”. They may even look at these things as growing pains on the way to the ultimate Marxist social justice utopia but they refuse to see that Marxism has never produced anything on this earth but the above listed curses. No matter; their faith in their Marxist religion is held tightly and they will not dare to look upon the facts. They know that they must have a purpose and meaning for life before they pass into oblivion (otherwise they might go into a deep depression and commit suicide). At the same time, they know that there is no God (some are agnostic just in case they are wrong). Therefore, they work for “social justice” thinking that they are ushering in a positive world order of hope and change. And for this reason they will be accountable before God in that great day; not only because they did not know but because they did not want to know. I reference Paul’s letter to the Romans:

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

Does any of the above seem familiar to you in our society today? It further reminds me of what the apostle Paul wrote to the Thessalonians:

7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Does any of this ring a bell? Now regarding American history: have you considered the horrendous condition of the American Indian before the arrival of the Europeans? No, you have not because your teachers told you with distain of the evil colonialist white men who stole their land and gave them smallpox. First of all there were only a couple of million indians or so on the Eastern part of America when the settlers arrived. They could not begin to fill up this vast land and were very sparse. Through their idolatry and worship of demons they had degenerated into a condition more like animals with brains instead of creatures created in the image of God. Full of all treachery, theft, lying, murdering, oppression, and every other type of immorality, their society would have been a terrible place for a civilized man to abide. Fortunately for them, God sent white Europeans that carried with them the Gospel of Jesus. The founders also put much effort into teaching and converting the indians to Christ so that they would not perish but have eternal life. They taught them that unlike their chief God Okee who was vengeful and vindictive (as were the Algonquin themselves) that Jesus gave his life out of love to save all men and took their sins upon his own body for their redemption.

What then of the African? The same European nations that sent colonies to America sent colonies to Africa as well. Just as with the colonies in America, the European colonies that came into Africa brought the Gospel of Jesus with them also. By this many of the savage Africans also became human again. Can you even begin to imagine where the Africans would be today had it not been for the influence of the Gospel? They too would all be living in idolatry as total heathens participating in the same wickedness as the American indians. Instead of having cars, electricity, running water, health, and other good things, they would be living the same as the animals, only with a brain. Perhaps they would like to go back to the conditions that their forefathers dwelt in. Not! Thank God for the good news of Jesus.

The communists would have you believe that there is no God and that the wonderful utopia that Marxism offers can be ours if only we try again (don’t you think 6000 years is enough). Surly mans inner goodness will shine forth with social justice, peace, harmony and no racism. Perhaps Hillary or Obama can usher it in. If only they had been in charge during all the previous attempts to bring about “hope and change” it would have worked. The truth is that the core nature of man is utterly corrupt and sinful and can only be changed if he becomes a new creature in Christ. Having rejected the counsel of God these people have embraced communism as a substitute for the truth of the Gospel. This will end badly for them and for the world. Remember the words of God given through Malachi:

1 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.

So if you see a white man, maybe you should stop, shake his hand, and thank him for bringing salvation and humanity back to a world that had regressed into total depravity. No, it actually all started with a  Jewish carpender about 2000 years ago and even before that from the very foundation of the world.  Do you think maybe he was a white Jew? Just kidding. You guys worry way too much about race. Your avoidance of racial topics is also because of the marketing propaganda work of the Marxist media and learning institutions that have you feeling guilty of some crime that you never committed. They are the ones that are guilty, that stir up divisive things like race and gender, to gain an advantage and seize control. You should read the story about how Absalom, king David’s son, violently took over the kingdom of Israel from David. He was a communist before it was cool. And you thought it all started Marx.

Why do you suppose the American communists/atheists have been rearing their ugly heads so much lately in the courts and in the press, attacking even any similitude of Christianity? Why do they spend so much energy attacking something they don’t believe in? Why not just go about their narcissistic lives? Do you think Christianity can co-exist with Communism? The leftist’s frenetic assault upon freedom will not rest but upon your destruction. You cannot ignore him. You will not placate him. You will not convince him. You will not be able to compromise with him. If you relax your guard, he will not rest, but will advance on you. If you sit on the fence, he will pull you onto his side. You must resist him at every turn. Peace through surrender or tolerance of tyranny will only result in your death (both physically and spiritually). Dietrich Bonhoeffer: “Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.” Either we will kill him or he will kill us. He will not peacefully co-exist with you nor will you be able to co-exist with him. The light and the darkness cannot have fellowship together. Cast out the communist and live or attempt to coexistence with him and die. 1 Peter 5:8 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour…”. Daniel 8:23 “And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up. And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people. And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.” 1 Thessalonians 5:3 “For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.”

By the way, why do you suppose that these communists always take to changing their parentally given names? Maybe they see themselves as smarter than their old fogy parents. Maybe it’s like Al Gore said to a group of students: “When I was your age and the civil rights revolution was unfolding, and we kids asked our parents and their generation, ‘Explain to me again why it’s okay for the law to officially discriminate against people because of their skin color?’ And when our parents’ generation couldn’t answer that question, that’s when the law started to change. There are some things about our world that you know that older people don’t know,” he continued. “Why would that be? Well in a period of rapid change, the old assumptions sometimes just don’t work anymore because they’re out of date”. Sounds like he thinks we need some hope and change. I already have eternal hope and he can keep the change. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

For forty years and forty nights I have been knowing, but why would a man want to know something when he could just as easily know nothing? Knowing, though sweet in the mouth, is bitter in the belly. With understanding, the ignorant bliss of the liberal is lost and is replaced with pain. Withstanding the wicked though, is always a matter of proper course. In spite of all this knowing I have obtained, at least I know enough to have continual joy. The peace of God passes all understanding and the joy of God is independent from circumstances. I pity the man who knows and yet does not know Christ as his savior. That man would be happier not knowing. In that man’s case I prescribe a bottle of whiskey and a copy of the book “Rules for Radicals” as a bed time story under a warm blanket. Maybe that will cheer him up.

Now knowing causes people to be proud and puffed up as well as sad; therefore, let us go to and learn from the opossum, lest we think more highly of ourselves than we ought to think.  If Balaam was able to learn from a donkey, being the jackass that he was, maybe we can learn something about the communists from the lowly opossum. Man, I feel so humble being educated by an opossum but I guess I had it coming. I don’t even like the way they look. I actually feel sorry for them. They’re creepy but I’m sure God made this lowly, ugly, creature just to educate us. Can you imagine looking up in class and seeing one of these creatures behind the teachers desk looking back at you? That would just chill your blood but better this than the Marxist teachers you now have. These creatures knew the art of misinformation long before the Marxists had mastered it and they didn’t even sit at the feet of Lenin, Stalin, or the New York Times. Just as the opossum plays dead when convenient to save itself from predators, so the marxist/communists have been playing dead since the fall of the Soviet Union. They have been making monkeys out of all the liberal dupes in America for many years through their disinformation marketing campaigns. Perhaps at some point I shall divulge the hidden wisdom of the monkey. They also have a lot of characteristics we could learn from but I will save that for a later date. I wonder if it is more humbling to be taught by an opossum or a monkey. I better stop. This is starting to digress.

Now consider a man by the name of Ion Pacepa who has the great misfortune of being a knower. In fact, he knows so much that he lives in hiding. His defection from the communist brotherhood was so dangerous to the communist propaganda machine that Carlos the Jackal was hired  to kill him. Do you suppose that the Jihadis ever put a fatwa on his head also?  They say you haven’t lived until you have a fatwa on your head. To digress a little more from the subject, I have a publicly vocal brother who probably has about 20 on his head. I keep a good distance from him because I’m sure his head will burst into flames at some point from all the fatwas on it. Anyway, this guy Pacepa, is a former three-star general in the Securitate, the secret police of Communist Romania, the once deputy chief of the Romanian intelligence service. You can just imagine the horror that was put in motion when this man converted out of communism and defected to the U.S..  He had the goods on everybody. Through their alliance and comradeship with the Western media outlets, the communists have spent countless dollars and millions of man hours of marketing to obfuscate and hide themselves and their intentions from the world. Having deceived the West and put them to sleep, this guy Pacepa, was fixing to blow it all for a nickel by divulging the truth. It reminds me of the time during the first presidential race with Obama. The media had spent countless dollars and time creating and spinning up an Obama that never existed. The real, radical Marxist Obama, was almost completely obscured. All was going well and then some yahoo put out a youtube video of Jeremiah Write’s (Obama’s pastor of 20 years) vitriolic Marxist sermons against America. He threatened to undermine their millions for a penny. It was nice; however, just for a while, to see the rats scurrying. Those were good times but to no avail. In the end all the lemmings succumbed to the magical marxist flute and marched off the cliff. How’s that fundamental, transformative, redistributive, hope and change working for you?

In a gripping interview with Blaze Books in connection with his most-recent title, “Disinformation“, the highest-ranking Soviet bloc intelligence officer to ever defect, Lt. Gen. Ion Pacepa provided his insights on a wide array of topics, from Putin’s Russia to the disinformation campaign to rebrand Pope Pius XII to “Hitler’s Pope” to the links between Leftism and anti-Semitism to the Boston bombing, and all things in-between.

Below is our interview, which was conducted via email. It has been abridged for readability. All citations are courtesy of Lt. Gen. Pacepa.

Playing devil’s advocate here, some might argue that since the Soviet Union was defeated, Americans shouldn’t care about a book on Soviet disinformation tactics. What would you say to these people?

Pacepa: The very idea that the Soviet Union was defeated is disinformation in itself. The Soviet Union changed its name and dropped its façade of Marxism, but it remained the same samoderzhaviye, the historical Russian form of autocracy in which a tsar is running the country with the help of his political police.

During the Soviet Union, the KGB was a state within the state. Now the KGB is the state. Over 6,000 former KGB officers are running Russia’s federal and local governments. The Soviet Union had one KGB officer for every 428 citizens. In 2004, Russia had one FSB officer for every 297 citizens.

How would you describe today’s Russia?

Russia today is the first intelligence dictatorship in history. It is a brand new form of totalitarianism, which we are not yet familiar with. Now the KGB, rechristened FSB, is openly running Russia.

On Sept. 11, 2002, hordes of former KGB officers gathered in Moscow at the Lubyanka—the headquarters of the old and new KGB. They had not congregated to sympathize with America’s national tragedy of the previous year, but to celebrate the 125th birthday of Feliks Dzerzhinsky—the man who created the most criminal institution in contemporary history. One of my former bosses, KGB chairman Vladimir Semichastny, groused to a crowd: “I think a goal was set to destroy the KGB, to make it toothless.”[1] A few days later, Moscow’s mayor, Yury Lushkov, one of Russia’s most influential politicians, reversed himself by saying he now wanted to restore Dzerzhinsky’s statue to its place on Lubyanka Square.

It will not be easy to break Russia’s five-century-old tradition of being a police state. Nevertheless, man would not have learned to walk on the moon had he not first studied what the moon was really made of and where it lay in the universe. This is one reason we wrote “Disinformation.” Let’s hope a new generation of Russians will learn the truth, and will give that immense country a new national identity.

Pacepa: That Marxism and its earthly Socialism are immense disinformation operations, and that all they have left behind is former Marxist countries that ended up looking like trailer camps hit by a hurricane, and leaders roasting in Dante’s Inferno. That all Marxists who have ever risen to lead a country have ended up in hell—all, from Trotsky to Stalin, Tito to Enver Hoxha to Mátyás Rakosi, Sékou Touré, Nyeree and Hugo Chavez. That all had their days of temporary glory, but that all ended in eternal disgrace. Some, like Khrushchev and Ceausescu, were even found unworthy of having their final resting place marked by any gravestone. A few remnants, like Fidel and Raul Castro, are still hanging on, but they certainly have a place in hell reserved and waiting for them.

Perhaps our book may also help President Obama abandon his craving for Marx’s utopian ideology, “to each according to his need,” which is transforming the United States into a decaying socialist country in all but name.
In your book you discuss the decades-long disinformation campaign against Pope Pius XII, who was ultimately branded (quite wrongly) by some as “Hitler’s Pope” for his actions during World War II. Can you explain why the Soviets and their allies were so concerned with smearing and discrediting him?

Pacepa: On May 8, 1945, Nazi Germany capitulated to the Allies, which now included the Soviet Union. Once denied diplomatic relations with most of the Free World, Stalin joined the exclusive victors’ club. He was (unsuccessfully) nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize and was ready to take on the world. There was, however, one more enemy he wanted to defeat: Pope Pius XII, who equated communism with Nazism and issued a “Decree against Communism” which excommunicated all Catholics who joined the Communist Party or collaborated with communist organizations.

Pius XII’s “Decree against Communism” was the largest excommunication in the history of the Catholic Church. That was unacceptable to the man who had become the Soviet Union’s only god—at whose order 168,300 Russian Orthodox clergy had been arrested during the purges of 1936–1938 alone, 100,000 of whom had been shot. Stalin could not arrest Pius XII, but he could change his past to make him look as an enemy of the new, post-World War II world.

There is a widespread belief that the worst damage from Soviet/Russian intelligence operations against the West has been the theft of highly classified secrets, such as the technology for the atom bomb. Not so. The absolutely worst—and often irreparable—damage done to the Free World has been caused by the Kremlin’s disinformation operations designed to change the past…In 1978, when I broke with communism, I left in my office safe a slip of paper on which Gen. Sakharovsky had scrawled: “Gutta cavat lapidem, non vi sed saepe cadendo.” (A drop makes a hole in a stone not by force but by constant dripping.) That Latin saying, Sakharovsky explained, encapsulated the whole concept of disinformation and framing. Lying next to it was Mao Zedong’s version: “A lie repeated a hundred times becomes the truth.”

The Kremlin’s repeated lie that Pius XII was Hitler’s Pope has become the “truth”—a lie so firmly established against all evidence to the contrary, that for most educated people who have not looked closely at the subject, there seems nothing to discuss.

You dedicated a significant part of the book to the connection between the Soviet framing of Pius XII and the current international terrorism. Could you synthesize that part here?

Pacepa: On the face of it, there may seem to be no connection between the framing of Pius XII as “Hitler’s Pope” and international terrorism. However, for someone who was sitting atop the former Soviet bloc’s intelligence pyramid at a time when both movements were born, there is a strong correlation.

Both the framing of the pope and the threat of international terrorism were born at the Lubyanka, the headquarters of the KGB. Both grew out of the Kremlin’s anti-Semitism and its addiction to framing people and countries. And both were intended to slander and undermine the faith of the Judeo-Christian world, while at the same time driving a wedge between Jews and Christians.

That brings me to the crux of the matter. Anti-Semitism has always generated terrorism.

In the wake of the Boston bombing, the Russians made a very public effort to turn over evidence they had on the Tsarnaevs’ radicalization and Russian commitment to cooperating with U.S. authorities on counter-terrorism. Do you believe there are any ulterior motives at play?

Pacepa: Absolutely. One of Putin’s main objectives since he installed himself in the Kremlin has been to reset Russia’s image as a world power. His first public success was Hillary Clinton, whose policy toward Russia was indeed called “Reset”—erroneously translated by the State Department as “Peregruzka” which means “overcharged.” Next, Putin “solved” the “mystery” of the Boston bombing. His message: If Washington had just acted on Moscow’s generous tip about the Tsarnaevs’ terrorist connection, the whole Boston tragedy would have been avoided. On Sept. 11 2013, the New York Times published an op-ed signed by Putin, in which he bitterly criticized our policy toward Syria. Soon after that, Putin took over our policy toward Syria—and in the process he saved the skin of one of his closest allies, Syrian tyrant Bashar al-Assad.

It seems that now Putin is going to also take over our foreign policy toward Egypt. The Obama administration threw President Mubarak, our most reliable Arab ally in the Middle East, under the bus, and is now further alienating Egypt by condemning its military coup that dethroned president Mohamed Morsi, who tried to transform Egypt into a fief of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood. The Sunday Times of London predicted Putin may soon be visiting Cairo, where he “would likely get a warm, if not rapturous reception, both in government and on the street.”

One of the bombshells in your book is on the fact that the Soviets under Andropov had a dedicated plan to radicalize the Islamic world against the West generally and Israel specifically. Can you elaborate on this strategy, and in your view has it been effective?

Pacepa: In 1972, during a breakfast in his office, KGB chairman Andropov told me that “our” disinformation machinery should ignite a campaign aimed at transforming Arab anti-Semitism into an anti-American doctrine for the whole Muslim world. The idea was to portray the United States as a war-mongering, Zionist country financed by Jewish money and run by a rapacious “Council of the Elders of Zion” (the KGB’s derisive epithet for the U.S. Congress), the aim of which was to transform the rest of the world into a Jewish fiefdom. Andropov made the point that one billion adversaries could cause far greater damage than could a mere 150 million.

The KGB boss described the Muslim world as a waiting petri dish, in which we could nurture a strain of hate-America. The Muslims had a taste for nationalism, jingoism and victimology. We had only to keep repeating, over and over, that the United States was a war-mongering, Zionist country financed by Jewish money, with the goal of taking over the whole world.

Pacepa: The Cold War is indeed over, but, unlike other wars, that one did not end with the defeated enemy throwing down his weapons. Is it too far-fetched to suggest that this post-Cold War Russia calls up the hypothetical image of a postwar Germany being run by former Gestapo officers, who reinstate Hitler’s “Deutschland Über Alles” as national anthem, call the demise of Nazi Germany a “national tragedy on an enormous scale,” and invade a neighboring country, perhaps Poland, the way Hitler set off World War II?

You discuss in your book the fact that the word glasnost was perverted from its original meaning. Can you elaborate on this?

Pacepa: All of the Western media and most of the Western “experts,” even in intelligence and defense establishments, believe that Gorbachev invented the word glasnost to describe his proclaimed effort to lead the Soviet Union “out of its totalitarian state and to democracy, to freedom, to openness.” So does the committee that gave Gorbachev the Nobel Peace Prize. The venerable Encyclopedia Britannica defines glasnost as: “Soviet policy of open discussion of political and social issues. It was instituted by Mikhail Gorbachev in the late 1980s and began the democratization of the Soviet Union.”[2] Merriam-Webster agrees.[3] And the American Heritage Dictionary defines Gorbachev’s glasnost as “an official policy of the former Soviet government emphasizing candor with regard to discussion of social problems and shortcomings.”[4]

But for those of us who once led the Soviet bloc intelligence community, glasnost was a dezinformatsiya instrument used to embellish the stature of a leader, not a catchword for openness, as it has lately become known to the rest of the world. Glasnost was not invented by Gorbachev and it does not mean openness. Glasnost is an old Russian term for polishing the ruler’s image.

In the mid 1930s—half a century before Gorbachev’s glasnost—the official Soviet encyclopedia defined the word glasnost as a spin on news released to the public: “Dostupnost obshchestvennomy obsuzhdeniyu, kontrolyu; publichnost,” meaning, the quality of being made available for public discussion or control.[5] In other words, glasnost meant, literally, publicizing, i.e., self-promotion.

Since the 16th century’s Ivan the Terrible, all that country’s leaders have used glasnost to promote themselves inside and outside the country. [Goes on to describe history, and picks up in the 1950s]

…At that time, I was already a Soviet bloc intelligence officer. I was, however, not yet aware that a Marxist tyrant’s image was so important that the despot would go to any lengths, even to the point of killing and imprisoning millions, rewriting history, manipulating religion, destroying institutions, and changing traditions, all in an effort to beatify himself—or to demonize his competitors and enemies.

You mention in your book that the KGB had significantly more agents dedicated to penetrating Western institutions and propagandizing therein, than it had traditional intelligence-gathering agents. Why were KGB resources allocated this way?

Sakharovsky used to preach that, to use a mundane figure of speech, one might compare old-fashioned, classical espionage with a pickpocket’s snatch. If the deed was discovered, the result would be painful but normally not life-threatening for the victim; however, most of the time it would not even be noticed. Classical espionage, like picking pockets, was an accumulation of one-time thefts. Our disinformation and glasnost techniques, on the other hand, were a continuous process, conceived to invade people’s minds and consciences and there to put down roots. That was the future. That was going to open up a whole new era in the history of communist foreign intelligence.

In your book you described the KGB’s Operation “Ares.” Let’s talk about it.

Pacepa: …Andropov was convinced that the war in Vietnam provided a once-in-a-lifetime chance to make Europe fear America’s military terror and instill discord between the Old Continent and its own leader at that time, the United States.

Operation “Ares” started in 1965, when the KGB transformed the vitriolic anti-American international Conference on Vietnam into an international organization, colloquially called the Stockholm Conference, and staffed it with undercover officers of the Soviet bloc foreign intelligence services—including the DIE. The Stockholm Conference also received an average of 15 million dollars yearly, delivered by the KGB in the form of laundered cash dollars in order to hide their origin.[6]

Our book details this KGB disinformation operation. Here I will only note that “Ares” did indeed change the United States, just as Andropov predicted. By 1968, the anti-Vietnam War protesters in the U.S. numbered almost seven million. They came to regard their own government, not communism, as the enemy.[7]

In 1972, I had a long discussion with Andropov about this operation in his dark, cavernous KGB office, which breathed secrecy from every inch of its thick walls, just as his “Ares” did. “Our ‘Ares’ turned America against her own government,” Andropov started off in his soft voice. It damaged America’s foreign policy consensus, poisoned her domestic debate, and built a credibility gap between America and European public opinion that was wide and deep. Now all we had to do was to continue planting the seeds of “Ares” and water them day after day after day. Eventually, American leftists would seize upon our “Ares” and would start pursuing it of their own accord. In the end, our original involvement would be forgotten, and “Ares” would take on a life of its own. That was how human nature worked, Andropov explained. Our “Ares” would change America forever.

…How did our venerable American sense of patriotism arrive at this point? [i.e. anti-war sentiment in Democratic Party during the GW Bush Administration]

…Sen. Joseph Lieberman said, explaining the problem in a nutshell on May 27, 2008. “Now, the Democratic Party sees America as the main danger to the world’s peace. The Soviets and their allies were our enemies not because they were inspired by a totalitarian ideology fundamentally hostile to our way of life, or because they nursed ambitions of global conquest. Rather, the Soviets were our enemies because we had provoked them, and because we failed to sit down and accord them the respect they deserved. In other words, the Cold War was mostly America’s fault.”[8]

Sen. Lieberman was right on the money, but he knew only one side of the coin. The huge KGB disinformation and glasnost effort is the other side.

During the Cold War, more people in the Soviet bloc worked for various “Ares” operations than for the Soviet army and defense industry put together. The bloc’s intelligence community alone had well over one million officers and several million informants around the world. All were involved in deceiving the West—and their own people—or in supporting this effort. To them should be added the vast number of people working for the international disinformation organizations that the KGB secretly created.

In your view what is the best way to fight against Leftist disinformation?

Pacepa: By revealing the truth…Your Blaze and Glenn Beck’s tremendous power of persuasion could change night into day. Together you could also persuade the American public, administration and Congress to take another look at President Truman’s NSC 68/1950.

That National Security Council report did not blame videos or books for the Cold War’s ideological and terrorist attacks against the United States. That down-to-earth, 58-page document described the challenges facing the United States in realistic terms. “The issues that face us are momentous,” NSC 68/1950 stated, “involving the fulfillment or destruction not only of this Republic but of civilization itself.”[9]

Therefore, NSC 68/1950 contained a two-pronged political strategy: superior military power and a “Campaign of Truth,” defined as “a struggle, above all else, for the minds of men.” Truman argued that the propaganda used by the “forces of imperialistic communism” could be overcome only by the “plain, simple, unvarnished truth.”[10] The Voice of America, Radio Free Europe, and Radio Liberation (soon to become Radio Liberty) became part of Truman’s “Campaign of Truth.”[11]

Romania’s second post-communist president, Emil Constantinescu, summed it all up:

Radio Free Europe has been a lot more important than the armies and the most sophisticated missiles. The ‘missiles’ that destroyed Communism were launched from Radio Free Europe, and this was Washington’s most important investment during the Cold War. I don’t know whether the Americans themselves realize this now, seven years after the fall of Communism, but we understand it perfectly well.[12]

You talk at length about the anti-Semitism that underpinned and animated much of the Leftist attack on the West, including in the media through plays such as “The Deputy.” Why is it that Leftism and Jew-hatred have gone hand in hand?

Pacepa: Most leftists are totalitarians, and totalitarianism (what we now innocuously call the “nanny state”) always requires a tangible enemy. The Jews, who were not protected by the power of a state, proved a convenient enemy for both leftist and rightist totalitarians…

[After describing history of anti-Semitic ideas] These anti-Semitic ideas were soon embodied in one of the most resilient pieces of disinformation in history: the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, forged by Tsar Alexander III’s political police, the Okhrana.[13] To disguise its hand, the Okhrana claimed it to be the minutes of the first Zionist Congress (1897 in Basel, Switzerland), at which the Jews had allegedly plotted to take over the world. The Protocols was compiled by the Okhrana to compromise the new generation of Jewish intellectuals who wanted to modernize the country.

The author of the Protocols was Petr Ivanovich Rachovsky, an Okhrana disinformation expert assigned to France, who had been inspired by the wave of anti-Semitism aroused by the Dreyfus controversy.[14] Rachovsky lifted most of his text from an obscure 1864 French satire called Dialogue aux Enfers entre Machiavel et Montesquieu (“Dialogue in Hell Between Machiavelli and Montesquieu”), written by Maurice Joly and accusing Emperor Napoleon III of plotting to seize all the powers in French society.

I once saw both original documents in the KGB archive. Rachovsky had done nothing more than substitute the words the world for France and the Jews for Napoleon III. In 1921, the Times of London published a devastating exposure of the forgery by printing extracts from the Protocols side-by-side with the passages from the Joly book that had been plagiarized.[15] Yet that did not stop the Protocols from becoming the basis for much of Hitler’s anti-Semitic philosophy as expressed in Mein Kampf, written in 1923.

[Regarding a disinformation campaign beginning in 1959]…“We planted the seeds of anti-Semitism in Germany, and only we can revive them,” Khrushchev explained. The code name of his operation was “Zarathustra,” to symbolize that anti-Semitism was as immortal in the German mind as was German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche’s aphoristic book Also Sprach Zarathustra (“Thus Spake Zarathustra”) in German literature. The task was to “discreetly” disseminate copies of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion throughout West Germany and the rest of Western Europe. During the almost two decades that I continued to remain in Romania, our intelligence community disseminated several million Protocols—translated into German, English, French and Arabic—to leftist organizations around the world, to mosques, and to countless people whose names were randomly selected from telephone books.

We do not have an instrument that can scientifically measure the results of disinformation operations. But it is safe to presume that the combined effect of spreading millions of Protocols around the world and portraying the United States as a Zionist instrument used to subjugate the world to Jewish interests played a role in generating the shameful anti-Americanism costumed in the robes of anti-Semitism that we are facing today.
